Barbara joined the team in 2020, in an Of Counsel position. She focuses her practice on business and consumer bankruptcy, representing debtors. Barbara also practices in the areas of probate, collections, personal injury, and general litigation.
Barbara and her husband, Will, have been married over thirty years and have two wonderful children, Maria and Tommy. Maria works in educational research for Johns Hopkins University, and Tommy is working toward his Juris Doctorate at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. When Barbara is not practicing law, she is competing in running and triathlon races. She has run the Ironman and numerous marathons.
Barbara graduated with honors from the University of Missouri. She earned two undergraduate degrees, a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Barbara received her law degree from Washington and Lee University in Virginia, where she served on the law review. She has been practicing law for 32 years.

Barbara has been honored with various prestigious awards, including the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Award for outstanding young lawyers; the Memphis Bar Association’s Public Service Award; and the Association for Women Attorneys’ Francis Loring-Marion Griffin Award for outstanding attorney.
Barbara has also been very active serving her community over the years. She was a member of the Leadership Memphis Class of 2000, she was ranked in the Memphis Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40, and she has been Chair of the Board of Directors for Girls, Inc.
